Red colored lava erupted from Mt. Redsuvius. It was then collected by a pyromancer nymph and cooled into these polyhedral shapes. The lighter and darker hues flow against each other like two different potion ingredients poured into the same cauldron. If you want to imagine something a little more morbid, the red streaks can look a little like blood running in water.
