2 Player Games for Valentine's Day Part 4

Posted by Bryan L Wright on

It's Valentine's Day.  Time to celebrate love.  So celebrate your love of board games with these final two two player games we are featuring this month.  Royal Visit & Hive

In Royal Visit the valley is in turmoil: the King is on his way! What a pride it would be for your lineage to have the King’s court taking a break in your castle! Use the powers of the wizard and the fool to attract the king to your domain, and become a legend in the valley!

This is the new strategy game by Reiner Knizia for 2 players: a smart and exciting tug-of-war game, where you try to use each character’s ability optimally to make the court advancing to your valley!

Royal Visit is quick to learn and quick to play, with plenty of replayability.  The cloth board and wooden pieces give the game a premium feel, making it a delight to have on the table.  So who will win this epic tug of war and bring the royal court and the king to your castle?  Pick up a copy today so you can find out.

If the tug of war in Royal Visit is not your style, perhaps you would prefer a chess like game of Hive?

Hive is an award winning board game with a difference. There is no board. The pieces are added to the playing area thus creating the board. As more and more pieces are added the game becomes a fight to see who can be the first to capture the opposing Queen Bee.

The soldier ants battle to keep control of the outside of the hive, whilst the Beetles climb up to dominate the top. Spiders moving into holding positions as the Grass Hoppers jump in for the kill. Keeping one eye on the hive and the other on your opponents reserves, the tension builds as one wrong move will see your Queen Bee quickly engulfed; .... game over!

Whether choosing Royal VisitHive, one of the other 2 player games we featured, or any game for that matter, you can't go wrong by playing a game with your Valentine this Valentine's day.  We hope you have a very happy Valentine's Day.
